Below I list some of the RFC’s that I find interesting:

I wondered about the first RFC written and found out that it is entitled as Host Softwares dating back to 1969. If you have a look at the RFC 1 you’lI notice that how RFC’s were simpler in that era.

In June 1973 RFC 527 entitled as ARPAWOCKY and it was parodying about Lewis Carroll’s poem Jabberwocky from the Alice in Wonderland.

In September 1989 RFC 1118 – “Hitchikers guide to Internet” was published. It got its name from Douglas Adams famous humorous science fiction novel “Hitchiker’s Guide to Galaxy”.

Since 1978 in April Fools Day a few funny RFC’s are being published. You can have a look at to the wikipedia page(Title is: April Fools’ Day RFC) to have an idea.

In August 1990 RFC 1173 -Responsibilities of Host and Network Managers A Summary of the “Oral Tradition” of the Internet- was published. I think its title describes everything :) .

In October 1998 an RFC for obituary of John Postel was written by Vint Cerf. This RFC had number 2468 and its title was “I remember IANA”.
